Digital Director and Press Secretary

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Digital Director and Press Secretary to help manage the CHC's press and communications operations.

Candidates must possess strong writing and organizational skills, a digital and new media background, a good sense of humor, creativity, the ability to operate in a fast-paced office under strict deadlines, and be able to work collaboratively with CHC offices and staff. Ideal candidates should have familiarity with immigration, education and civil and voting rights issues, social media experience, and a background working with both print and electronic media. Candidates should also have some experience with graphic design and the skills necessary to communicate policy issues to an audience through multiple forms of media.

Responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day press operations and outreach, developing strategic communications strategies in conjunction with the Chair’s communications staff, helping to field interview requests, creating social media content including graphics and videos, organizing media events, distributing information to CHC member offices, and drafting press releases, talking points, op-eds, and speeches. Prior on-the-record experience required; Hill experience and ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish is strongly preferred. This is NOT an entry level position.
