The House Armed Services Committee majority staff seeks a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Press/Digital Assistant to join an active press operation in the Chairman’s Washington, D.C. office. Primary responsibilities include: drafting communications collateral (social media content, fact sheets, press releases, etc.); designing graphics; monitoring social media and managing the committee’s digital assets; and compiling press clips. This position requires sound political judgement and an ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, excellent writing and communication skills, and demonstrated social media platform management in a professional setting.

Prior experience in strategic communications or digital media is preferred. A background in national security or defense-related issues is preferred, but not required.
