Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA-24) seeks a hard-working, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player to serve as Staff Assistant in his Washington, D.C. office. Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with excellent customer service skills who work well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Running the day-to-day operations of the front office, including answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail, processing tour and flag requests, ordering supplies, entering data into Fireside, and other general administrative support

  • Managing the office intern program, including interviewing, training, and supervising interns

  • Serving as office systems administrator which acts as a liaison to technical support and service contractors to resolve office IT issues

  • Assisting the Press Assistant and Communications Director by drafting language for social media posts and e-newsletters, generating simple graphics, maintaining press lists, and other duties when time permits

  • Supporting the scheduler and legislative staff on special projects as needed

Candidates with Central Coast or California ties and communications experience are preferred. Spanish-language skills are a huge plus.
