THE ROLE:

The Office of Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) is seeking an experienced Scheduler based in her New York City office. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff in Washington, D.C.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the Member, the Chief of Staff and other senior staff on all scheduling matters related to Washington, New York and official travel

  • Manage and maintain the member’s daily and long-term schedule for New York and Washington.

  • Book travel and coordinate logistics for events

  • Evaluate and organize all incoming meetings and event requests

  • Communicate key information regarding the member and the member’s schedule to staff

  • Coordinate closely with appropriate staff to ensure preparation and delivery of the member’s briefing materials.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Our office prioritizes building a diverse team committed to advocating for the residents of the New York’s 12th. 2-3 years of experience recommended, with Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred. This is not an entry level position.

SKILLS and KNOWELDGE REQUIRED:

  • Ideal candidates are flexible, responsive, collaborative and work well under pressure and on short timelines and are able to balance competing demands

  • Applicants must have a positive attitude, sense of humor and excellent organization skills, strong written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.

  • This position requires non-traditional working hours.

COMPENSATION:
The salary for the position is commensurate with experience, along with a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental, and paid leave.
