Scheduler
posted Mon, 05/09/2022 - 1:08pmThe Office of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) seeks an experienced, organized, and highly motivated Scheduler for either her Washington, D.C. or New Jersey District Office.
This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate should have prior experience as a scheduler, or executive assistant, whether on Capitol Hill or off. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver who can manage the challenges of an ever-changing schedule with patience and efficiency and have excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities include:
Managing and maintaining the Member’s daily and long-term schedule in both DC and the district
Making official travel arrangements
Coordinating logistics for events
Evaluating, organizing, and responding to all incoming meeting and event requests
Coordinating all briefing materials for meetings and events
Communicating any changes in the schedule to the Member and staff in a timely manner
Acting as a liaison to constituent groups
Coordinating with the communications team and other staff to schedule press interviews
Handling the Member’s correspondence
Managing operational and logistical support for the office.
Ideal candidates are flexible, responsive, work well under pressure and on short deadlines, are able to balance competing demands, and are able to anticipate problems and offer solutions. Candidates must be available to assist the member outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends. Applicants should also have a positive attitude, sense of humor, excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, political instincts and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ability to drive the Congresswoman is strongly preferred.
