posted Fri, 05/13/2022 - 2:59pmSUMMARY: Representative Robin Kelly (IL-02) seeks a Legislative Director to lead the Congresswoman’s work as Vice Chair of the Energy & Commerce Committee and member of the Oversight and Reform Committee. Qualified candidates will work in a busy office to further the Congresswoman’s leadership in gun violence prevention, health equity, and technology policy. Responsibilities include managing the legislative team, preparing the Congresswoman for Committee hearings; developing and planning legislative initiatives; monitoring legislative developments in-portfolio within committees and on the House floor; planning and organizing briefings and other events; and other assigned tasks. This position will report to the Chief of Staff and work closely with the District Director and Communications Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A demonstrated knowledge of legislative process and of House organization and procedures;
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Self-starter with good political instincts and judgment;
Strong writing, interpersonal, self-motivation, and organizational skills are a must;
Graduate or Law Degree preferred;
Illinois or Midwestern ties are a plus.
This is not an introductory level position, at least 4 years of experience required.
