Legislative Correspondent / Staff Assistant

Florida Democratic House office seeks an organized and motivated self-starter to serve in the position of Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant in the Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities include managing the office’s mail program, responding to hundreds of pieces of constituent per week and presenting data-driven weekly constituent correspondence reports.  This position will manage a select portfolio of issues and assist the legislative staff in developing and researching policy positions.

This position will also manage front office operations, answering and logging phone calls, greeting visitors, handling tour and flag requests, maintaining inventories, providing administrative support to the office and senior staff. 

Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to public service. Previous Capitol Hill and constituent services experience are strongly preferred.

Participation in the federal student loan repayment program is available for eligible candidates. This is an in-office position and is not eligible for remote work.
