Communications Director

The DC office of Congressman Mark Takano is seeking a Communications Director to develop and implement a communications plan for the office. Responsibilities including writing speeches and press releases, responding to press inquiries, preparing online content, orchestrating media events in both DC and California, managing a District-based press assistant, and coordinating with the press team of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

Ideal candidates will be strong writers and creative thinkers who work well in a collaborative environment. A deep understanding of digital media is expected, and Hill or political experience is preferred, but not required. This is not an entry-level position. Expected starting salary range is $70,000 to $80,000, based upon previous experience.
