Legislative Assistant

North Carolina Democrat and member of the Education and Labor Committee seeks a Legislative Assistant to cover a portfolio including the Education and Labor Committee, health care, and reproductive rights in addition to other policy areas.    

Responsibilities include working with the Legislative Team to develop and implement legislative proposals and staffing the member at hearings, markups, and briefings for the Committee on Education and Labor.  Specific tasks include monitoring legislative developments, introducing legislation, and interacting and communicating with stakeholder groups. The ideal candidate has experience with health care and education policy and is collaborative, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and willing to work in a fast-paced setting.

The position is available in Congresswoman Kathy Manning’s office immediately and will be located in D.C., with some options for remote work, depending on Congress’ schedule.
