Legislative Director

The office of Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, seeks an experienced Legislative Director to oversee the congresswoman’s legislative agenda. 

The Legislative Director will be responsible for managing the legislative team, advising the Member on legislation pending before the House, advancing the Member’s policy priorities, and overseeing the constituent correspondence program, in addition to other responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, significant Capitol Hill experience, and be able to effectively manage a team of people. 

This is not an entry-level position. Advanced degrees, Virginia ties, and foreign affairs experience are a plus. Women, people of color, veterans, and LGBTQIA individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
