Legislative Assistant

Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) seeks a legislative assistant to serve as his principal advisor for his work as a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. This person should have extensive experience in one or more of the following policy areas: banking and financial services, the Fed / monetary policy, taxes, small businesses, consumer protection, exchanges and markets, and investments. The portfolio also includes housing policy and other related issues. This individual will advise and brief the Senator; draft, introduce, and negotiate amendments and bills; meet with constituents and stakeholders; prepare briefing materials; manage a Legislative Correspondent and a fellow supporting the portfolio; and work on other related issues as assigned. Candidates must have strong writing, analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively under pressure. Prior experience in Congress or the Executive Branch is preferred. This is a senior-level position with a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 annually with additional benefits.
