Legislative Director

The office of Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ), a member of the House Armed Services, House Natural Resources, and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees, seeks a Legislative Director to oversee the congressman’s legislative agenda. 

The Legislative Director will be responsible for managing the legislative team, advising the Member on legislative strategy and matters pending before the House, authoring and advancing legislation through every step of the legislative process, overseeing the constituent correspondence program, working closely with District staff to achieve office goals, and more. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good sense of humor and should be a team player, a self-starter, and an effective manager. 

This is not an entry-level position. Capitol Hill experience required and 4+ years legislative experience preferred. Women, people of color, veterans, and LGBTQ+ individuals are strongly encouraged to apply. Arizona or southwest ties are a plus!
