The Office of Representative Ilhan Omar is seeking a talented, creative and motivated Communications Assistant. Candidates will ideally have at least 2-3 years of digital or press experience, preferably in political or legislative fields. Experience editing video and exceptional writing skills are required.
Responsibilities include shooting and editing videos and graphics for the Congresswoman’s social media platforms, managing the website, managing press inquiries, and drafting press releases, talking points for the Member as needed, and the bi-weekly e-newsletter. Applicants should share the Congresswoman’s progressive values, be highly organized, possess a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work flexible hours and travel to the district. This position will report to the Communications Director and assist with other duties as assigned.
