Congresswoman Norma J. Torres is seeking a Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent for her Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include serving as the welcoming face of the office, answering phone calls, coordinating tour and flag requests, managing interns, writing constituent mail, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence through Fireside, and general office support. In addition, this position will serve as the driver for the Member. Therefore, a clean driving record and access to a vehicle are required. As the driver, the ideal candidate would be flexible to work outside of business hours as needed. We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic self-starter with keen attention to detail, good common-sense, possesses strong communication skills, and is willing to work long hours. Prior Capitol Hill experience and California ties are a plus but not required.
