Appropriations Legislative Assistant

The office of Congresswoman Katherine Clark seeks a Legislative Assistant to handle a range of policy issues and assist with the Congresswoman’s work on the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development and Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittees. Responsibilities include drafting and analyzing legislation, conducting research, drafting policy memos, meeting and engaging with constituents and stakeholders, and staffing Appropriations Committee hearings.

 

Ideal candidates will be strong writers, have an understanding of the appropriations process as well as House procedures, have experience with the legislative drafting process, and an interest in working on Transportation, Housing, and/or Education policy. Additionally, they will have experience managing multiple projects and enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.

 

This is not an entry-level position. Previous Hill experience is strongly preferred though not required. Massachusetts ties are a plus but not required.
