Legislative Assistant Job Posting

Representative Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) seeks a Legislative Assistant for her Washington, DC team. This individual will be responsible for:

  • Policy analysis and research on a range of complex topics
  • Writing for a variety of audiences, including the Representative and her constituents
  • Identifying opportunities for policy action
  • Representing the office in meetings with constituents, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders
  • Effectively communicating the Representative’s views and negotiating with stakeholders

 

The ideal candidate must have superb verbal and written communication skills, a demonstrated ability to evaluate complex policy issues, a working knowledge of the legislative process, and good humor on tough days. Successful applicants will be extremely organized and able to effectively manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Capitol Hill experience and/or Pennsylvania ties a plus.

 

The portfolio for this role will be determined based on the strengths of the successful applicant. Please note that the portfolio will NOT include the Representative’s Foreign Affairs or Armed Services Committee work.
