Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) seeks a Staff Assistant for his Washington, DC office. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this position is telework-only until the office can safely reopen. The Staff Assistant answers telephone calls, routes voicemail messages to staff when necessary, manages constituent requests for flags (and tours when the Capitol complex re-opens), and helps staff with various administrative, legislative, and communications duties, including compiling the daily press clips. The Staff Assistant is also responsible for running Congressman Levin’s DC internship program.
The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree; passion for and experience in progressive politics; have a strong understanding of social media and have some graphic design and video editing skills; and be able to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced office. Michigan ties and familiarity are a plus.
