Legislative Assistant Opening

Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), an ardent environmentalist and leading advocate for sustainable agriculture, is seeking a Legislative Assistant to spearhead his effort to address the climate emergency and promote agricultural practices that protect the environment, provide healthy food, and focus resources on small and mid-size farms. This staff member will also handle animal welfare, energy, flood insurance, public lands, and tribal issues.

Excellent writing, verbal, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to be a self-starter, while working in a fast-paced environment. Job responsibilities will include drafting legislation and amendments; writing talking points, legislative memos, and issue specific reports; and identifying and engaging with key constituent groups and stakeholders.
