Legislative Assistant

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), a member of the Education and Labor Committee and House Judiciary Committee, and Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, seeks an experienced Legislative Assistant to cover a broad portfolio that includes, but is not limited to, education, appropriations, foreign policy, and transportation and infrastructure.   The ideal candidate will be proactive, committed to progressive values, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and have a strong understanding of the legislative and appropriations process. Job responsibilities will include drafting legislation, writing hearing questions and statements and legislative memos, preparing briefing materials, and representing the member in meetings with constituents and stakeholders.
