Special Projects Assistant

The office of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11th) seeks highly organized, personable, dependable and professional Special Projects and Staff Assistant for a busy New Jersey District Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to overseeing the front office including answering telephones, and managing the phone schedule, greeting visitors, and office support.  This position also includes running the Congressional Recognition Outreach Process (i.e. certificates and proclamations), coordination for special projects (e.g., the Congressional Art Competition) and assisting the Casework team as needed.  Applicants should have proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word and a willingness to learn new organizational systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adept at multi-tasking, has a strong desire to help people, and has excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Evening and weekend hours are often required.
