JOB FUNCTIONS * Acts as the spokesperson and media liaison for the Member; * Develops and implements media, communications, and public relations strategy for the Member across all digital and analog platforms; * Builds and maintains relationships with local and national reporters * Drafts press releases, op-eds, talking points, newsletters, press advisories and any other written material; * Prepares and reviews public facing written material; * Collaborates with the legislative and district office staff to maximize communications and press opportunities; * Pitches stories, op-eds, etc., and fields media inquiries; * Coordinates with the Schedulers for press, interviews, radio and television time * Maintains and expand public engagement across digital platforms; * Accepts performance-based criticism and direction, and contributes to a culture of continual improvement; * Works a flexible schedule including long hours, nights and weekends; * Performs other duties as assigned.
