Digital Director; Press Secretary
posted Wed, 01/06/2021 - 10:29amThe Office of Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is seeking a Digital
Director/Press Secretary who will spend 80% of their time on digital media and
20% of their time supporting traditional media efforts. This person reports to
the Communications Director and is responsible for managing one of the largest
congressional digital programs in the country. The role can be based in D.C. or
California’s 10th District.
Responsibilities
* Creating all social media content and managing social media channels as well
as the office’s email program and website.
* Managing a large digital budget and running ads on Facebook, Instagram,
Google Search and YouTube.
* Managing the office’s strategic proactive outreach including mailers,
telephone town halls, and newspaper ads.
* Working with District Staff to ensure the Congressman’s visibility
in-district by producing videos for events.
* Analyzing data to track digital metrics
* Drafting press releases, speeches, op-eds and other traditional media
functions
Qualifications
* At least 1 year of digital communications experience.
* Proficiency with Adobe software including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop,
InDesign, and Illustrator.
* Strong eye for design that fits the office’s branding and message.
* Experience with Facebook Business Manager and Google Ads.
* Ability to work quickly under multiple deadlines with keen attention to
detail.
* Understanding of constituent management platforms like IQ and Catalist a plus
but not required
* Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
