Rep. Sean Casten’s office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to serve in the position of Legislative Correspondent/Staff Assistant in a highly collaborative Capitol Hill office. Responsibilities include managing the constituent mail program by sorting and batching incoming correspondence, drafting and editing letters, managing the letter approval process, maintaining the mail database, and mentoring interns. Additional responsibilities include managing the Congressman's personal correspondence, managing the front office, answering phones, and handling tour and flag requests.
Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, great attention to detail, strong time management skills, an ability to work independently and under pressure. Proficiency in Intranet Quorum (IQ), is strongly preferred. Capitol Hill experience and/or Illinois ties are preferred, but not required.
