Deputy Counsel

The Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure seeks a Deputy Counsel to work with the Chief Counsel in supporting the Committee’s front office and the majority staff. Responsibilities include preparing for hearings, markups, and floor activity, tracking legislation, drafting and editing Committee documents, and coordinating activities among various subcommittees. Candidates should possess excellent writing and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure and short deadlines. An ideal candidate will have prior Hill experience and/or and a strong understanding of the House Rules. Salary is commensurate with experience.
