Rep. Watson Coleman Seeks Legislative Director

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, a member of the House Appropriations and Homeland Security Committees and Vice Chair at Large of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, seeks an experienced staffer to lead her policy team as Legislative Director. Responsibilities of this position include supervising the legislative staff, providing floor vote recommendations, managing a legislative portfolio, drafting and analyzing legislation, conducting research, preparing briefing materials, meeting with constituents, fostering connections with relevant advocacy and interest groups, and staffing hearings.

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker capable of building policy that will advance the Congresswoman’s priorities, will have previous legislative experience as a congressional staffer, has a strong understanding of House procedures, and shares a commitment to the Congresswoman's progressive values. Appropriations experience and New Jersey ties are a plus. Candidates from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
