Job Posting – THUD/Environment Legislative Assistant

The office of Congresswoman Katherine Clark seeks a Legislative Assistant to handle a range of community development and environmental protection-related appropriations issues. This position will focus on assisting the Congresswoman pursue an agenda of economic justice, equality, and sustainability, and will include covering her work on the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee.


Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-02), Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and member of the House Appropriations Committee, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Legislative Assistant.  Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of Hill experience, a good understanding of House procedures, an understanding of developing and tracking legislative initiatives and political awareness.  This is not an entry level position.

Staff Director, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, House Veterans’ Affairs Committee (HVAC)

Summary: The House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Democratic Majority staff seeks a Subcommittee Staff Director for the Oversight and Investigations (O&I) Subcommittee. The Staff Director will be responsible for managing all issues and activities within the Subcommittee, which includes directing congressional investigations, advising on policy, producing and shepherding legislation to passage, and oversight of relevant Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs.

Military Legislative Assistant Opening

Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) is seeking an experienced and energetic Military Legislative Assistant to manage his work on the Armed Services Committee and oversee a portfolio including defense, foreign affairs, intelligence, and veterans’ affairs. This is not an entry-level position; strong knowledge of national security issues, and a minimum of two years of substantive legislative or related experience are required.

Judiciary LA

Member of the Judiciary Committee, seeks a Legislative Assistant to handle Committee work and a larger portfolio.  This is not an entry level position.  Previous work staffing a Member on a Committee and J.D. preferred.   The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is required.
