TOPLINE:  Today marks 500 days since Joe Biden was sworn in as President of the United States. The American people are worse off under President Biden’s broken promises and disastrous leadership. Under President Biden, gas prices are at an all-time high, the cost of food and everyday household goods have skyrocketed, deadly drugs like fentanyl are flowing across our southern border, illegal immigrants are being flown to cities across the country, and our supply chain is broken, leading to empty shelves and a lack of baby formula at grocery stores. President Biden has no plan, no solution, or remedy to fix his self-made crises.

Biden’s Big Government Socialist Agenda Has Supercharged Inflation and Raised Gas Prices

The inflation rate was 1.7 percent in February 2021, the first full month of Joe Biden’s presidency. Today, the inflation rate is nearly at a 40-year high, coming in at 8.3 percent.

In July 2021, President Biden stated , “Our experts believe, and our data shows, that most of the price increases we’ve seen were expected and expected to be temporary.”

Less than one year later, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in an  interview with CNN, “Well, look, I think I was wrong then about the path that inflation would take” when pressed about her previous comments saying that there would only be a “small risk” of inflation and that it would be “manageable.”

Inflation forces families to borrow from their future to stay afloat today. By spending more money to put food on the table, keep the lights on, and keep up with normal expenses, millions of Americans are not able to save their money, invest, or pay off debt.

Inflation is especially damaging to the most vulnerable, and these costs add up.

Bloomberg News reported  that U.S. households would spend, on average, an extra $5,200 per year because of increased prices.

Because of Biden’s inflation crisis, blue-collar workers – who experienced rising wages under President Trump – are seeing their hourly earnings down. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics stated , “After adjusting for inflation, real average hourly earnings decreased 2.7 percent for the 12 months ended in March 2022.”

Instead of enacting policies that would reduce energy costs, President Biden has done the exact opposite. By declaring war on American energy, banning drilling on public lands, and killing the Keystone pipeline, President Biden has increased electricity and home heating costs and caused the price of gasoline to skyrocket to record levels.

Compared to last year , gas at the pump costs 43.6 percent more, the price of used cars has increased by 22.7 percent, food prices have increased by 9.4 percent, and appliances are up 7.8 percent.

No matter how the Biden White House tries to spin it, Democrats’ out-of-control spending, extreme climate policies, and regulatory assault on our economy are wreaking havoc on every American at the gas station and the grocery store.

Biden Has Surrendered Control of the Southern Border to Illegal Immigrants and Drug Cartels

In April 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)  apprehended 234,088 migrants at the southern border. This is the highest number of monthly apprehensions in CBP’s history and a 1,268 percent increase compared to April 2020. 

In his first 100 days in office, President Biden issued more than 90 executive actions on immigration, including stopping the construction of President Trump’s border wall, which cost taxpayers $72 million, and ending the Trump Administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy, which required migrants seeking asylum to wait in Mexico until their court date in the United States.

In 2021, the Biden Administration reduced deportations by roughly 68 percent – the lowest level in 26 years. With illegal immigrants able to easily claim that they are “seeking asylum,” and with Speaker Pelosi’s Congress refusing to fix our broken immigration system, more than 2.6 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended at our southern border since Joe Biden took control of the White House. That number represents more than the population of Houston, Texas – the fourth largest city in America.

Because of President Biden’s efforts to dismantle America’s border and immigration enforcement system, drug-overdose deaths reached a new record last year.

The Wall Street Journal reported  that over 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2021. Provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that roughly two-thirds of these deaths came from synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

To date, CBP has seized over 5,000 pounds of fentanyl in Fiscal Year 2022. This is enough to kill 2.4 billion people – nearly one-third of the Earth’s entire population.  Fentanyl can be 50 times stronger than heroin, and it is easier for drug cartels to manufacture because it can be made from common chemicals.

Drug cartels are extremely violent and tactical. They have built intricate tunnels that allow them to smuggle drugs into our country undetected, they often send floods of migrants to the southern border to overwhelm Border Patrol agents, and they force their migrants to act as drug mules, carrying marijuana and poppy seeds so their growers can operate on American soil.

Unless the Biden Administration reverses its open-door policy and failed border security agenda, illegal immigrants and transnational criminal organizations will continue to flood across our open border, and every state – no matter where it is located – will be a border state in Biden’s America.

Democrats’ War on Law Enforcement is Fueling Our Crime Crisis

As crime surges in Democrat-run cities across the country, it’s disturbing that liberal and progressive lawmakers don’t take responsibility for their failed policies – like defunding the police or implementing dangerous bail reform – that let violent criminals back on the streets.

More than 15 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; and St. Paul, Minnesota, saw 2021 homicide numbers shatter previous records.

In 2020, the United States recorded more than 20,000 murders, a 30 percent increase over the year before.

Communities with a strong police force feel safe because residents know brave officers stand ready to defend them from criminals. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, many Democrats call to dismantle law enforcement agencies across the country. Their anti-police actions and rhetoric have jeopardized the safety of hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers and caused the increase in violent crime we see nationwide.
 
In 2021, 346 police officers were shot in the line of duty, an all-time high. This is a 115 percent increase compared to 2020. Tragically, 63 officers died from these vicious attacks.

So far, in 2022, 111 law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty .

Law enforcement officers no longer feel supported. They have been defunded, demoralized, and delegitimized by radical zealots within the Democrat Party. “Guilty until proven innocent” has become the status quo in nearly every officer-involved incident.
 
Police departments in Democrat-run cities saw their budgets slashed by liberal politicians, making it more challenging to recruit the qualified officers they need to keep communities safe.
 
This “defund the police” madness means many officers will be less likely to continue to serve in law enforcement. According to the Police Executive Research Forum, which surveyed nearly 200 police departments across the country, retirements were up by 45 percent , and resignations increased by 18 percent from April 2020 to April 2021.

With defunding efforts resulting in fewer officers in the field, it is no surprise that violent crime and murders are skyrocketing in the Democrat-run cities that have deliberately undermined their police departments. 

Supply Chain Crisis and Baby Formula Shortages Are Hurting Families

Pandemic lockdowns, labor shortages, and increased demand for consumer goods have created both a domestic and international supply chain crisis that directly impacts American families.

Materials and equipment are not being sent to factories as scheduled, shipments of finished products aren’t reaching distributors, and congestion at ports and other transportation bottlenecks are making it nearly impossible for shipments to arrive in stores on your doorstep on time.

Supply chain problems have led to empty shelves at the grocery store and have exacerbated baby formula shortages, but the situation worsened when Abbott Laboratories announced a Similac recall in February.

When the baby formula shortages began, President Biden did nothing to address this crisis.

On May 25, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director Robert Califf testified that the agency notified the Biden White House about problems in the baby formula supply chain in February. However, President Biden said he was not made aware of the baby formula crisis until April.

Datasembly, which tracks baby formula stock at more than 11,000 stores, estimates that 74 percent of baby formula in the United States is out-of-stock.

President Biden’s delayed response to the baby formula shortage has left parents scared and scrambling.
