TOPLINE: Thanks to President Biden’s out-of-control spending and extreme policies, inflation has reached its highest level in 40 years. The American people are paying more for everyday goods and services, wiping out their economic gains made during the Trump Administration. Unless Democrats reverse course, families, workers, and small businesses will continue to suffer.   Democrats Are Responsible For Fueling Inflation   The inflation rate was 1.4 percent in January 2021, when Joe Biden was sworn in as President.   Now, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the Consumer Price Index surged to a new high of 8.5 percent from March 2021 to March 2022.     This marks the largest 12-month increase since the period ending December 1981.   An increase in the cost of everyday goods and services disproportionately hurts lower-income families.     Bloomberg News reports that this sharp rise in prices is costing U.S. households, on average, an extra $5,200 per year.     Because of Bidenflation, real average hourly earnings have decreased by 2.7 percent, and weekly earnings have decreased by 6 percent.     To add insult to injury, a recent poll from CBS News found that 53 percent of respondents said that they are cutting back on food and groceries.     In Joe Biden’s America, citizens have to choose between depleting their wallets or starving themselves to put food on the table.   In the National Federation of Independent Business’ latest survey of small businesses, inflation replaced labor quality as the number one problem facing business owners and entrepreneurs.     Thirty-one percent of employers said that inflation was the single most important problem in their business.   President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and their allies in the mainstream media are trying to spin skyrocketing inflation and energy prices as a result of Vladimir Putin’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine.     This is misleading.     Inflation was accelerating long before Russia attacked Ukraine. For example, over the past ten months, consumer prices rose above 5 percent.       Don’t let President Biden avoid taking responsibility for his self-made crises, disastrous leadership, and devastating tax-and-spend policies that have caused inflation to skyrocket.     Unlike Democrats, Republicans are razor-focused on reducing inflation, raising wages, and lowering the cost of living.
