Biden’s Decision to Rescind Title 42 Will Turbocharge Illegal Immigration

TOPLINE: President Biden has created the worst border crisis in American history. On Friday, the Biden Administration declared that it will revoke Title 42, which allows for expedited deportations at the border during a public health crisis. This decision will further open up our border, and encourage hundreds of thousands of more migrants to unlawfully enter the United States.   Ending Title 42 Will Make Biden’s Border Crisis Worse, Not BetterAt the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump effectively used Title 42 of the Public Health Safety Act to prevent migrants from spreading COVID in the United States. Title 42 worked. This policy has been used to expel migrants more than 1.7 million times.     Sadly, President Biden caved to the far-left immigration zealots within his party, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced last week that Title 42 will be terminated on May 23, 2022.     By rescinding this critical public health authority, President Biden will incentivize more migrants to illegally cross the border.  
 
In a strategic planning document, the Department of Homeland Security is anticipating that there will be up to 18,000 border apprehensions per day once Title 42 is lifted.
 
 
This means that over 500,000 illegal immigrants – more than the population of Atlanta, Georgia – would enter the United States in the next five weeks.
 
Even Senators Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) are telling President Biden not to end Title 42. In a letter to the President, the senators wrote: “We urge you to continue providing additional border management and security resources to Arizona so that our border communities do not have to bear any unnecessary burdens from Title 42 changes.”Meanwhile, House Democrats are silent.
  This is the Worst Border Crisis of All TimeIn President Biden’s first 100 days in office, he issued more than 90 executive actions on immigration, including halting the construction of President Trump’s border wall and ending the Trump Administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.     Because of President Biden’s efforts to dismantle the United States’ border and immigration enforcement system, more than 2.4 million migrants have been apprehended attempting to illegally enter the United States. This total surpasses the population of Houston, Texas – the fourth-largest city in America.    
In an interview with CNN, Raul Ortiz, the head of U.S. Border Patrol, said that a record-breaking number of migrants is expected at the southern border this spring. He estimated that 7,000 to 8,000 migrants could be apprehended each day. This is unacceptable.
 
  To add insult to injury, according to multiple sources within CBP, more than 62,000 illegal immigrants evaded Border Patrol agents in March, and 300,000 got away in the last six months.  
A surge at the border is coming – and President Biden refuses to do anything.Thanks to President Biden’s weak border security policies, every town in America is a border town.
 
 
BOTTOM LINE: President Trump secured our southern border, President Biden opened it up to millions of illegal immigrants. President Trump activated Title 42 to keep the American people safe, President Biden ushered in reckless open-door policies that are jeopardizing the health and safety of American citizens. Unless the Biden Administration reverses its pro-amnesty policies, the United States will continue to surrender to illegal immigrants, drug cartels, and human traffickers.
