The Leader’s Floor Lookout: Thursday, November 9, 2023

Here’s what to watch for on the House Floor today:

Restoring Limited Government and Spurring Economic Growth

A supercharged army of 85,000 IRS agents to target American families; dozens of overbearing and costly regulations from agencies like the SEC that hurt small businesses; woke and harmful agenda items including climate initiatives, diversity, equity and inclusion programs, and censorship or fake “disinformation” efforts – these are all things that the Biden Administration wants to use your taxpayer dollars to fund.

While Democrats are busy working to weaponize the federal government against the American people and stifle small business growth with ridiculous red-tape, House Republicans are standing up against federal overreach and making sure these agencies serve the American people, not their own agendas.

The FY24 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill stops wasteful Democrat spending, supports American investors and small businesses by cutting burdensome regulations that kill American jobs, and ensures federal agencies remain focused on their core functions.

Additionally, the bill supports struggling Americans and targets opioid abuse by prioritizing funds for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) to address regional drug threats, such as combatting fentanyl and opioid overdoses and enhancing drug interdiction activities.

H.R. 4664, the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, 2024, introduced by Rep. Steve Womack, provides FY24 appropriations for financial services and general government that combat terrorism financing, maintain the integrity of our financial markets, preserve a fair judicial system, keep agencies focused on their core mission, support small business growth, cut out-of-control spending, and target opioid abuse.

House Republicans won’t stop fighting to restore limited government and protect hard working Americans and small businesses from burdensome bureaucracy that puts power before the people.
