TOPLINE: Under Democrats’ total control of Washington, our economy is tanking, the cost of food, gasoline, and everyday household goods have skyrocketed, violent crime is surging, and illegal immigrants and deadly drugs are flowing across our southern border. Democrats’ far-left policies have resulted in financial hardship and unsafe communities. Here’s the good news – help is on the way. Republicans have a bold conservative agenda that will reverse Democrats’ self-made crises.   An Economy That’s Strong   As a result of Democrats’ destructive economic agenda and climate policies, inflation is up 8.3 percent from a year ago – its highest level in nearly 40 years.     Millions of hardworking Americans are struggling to buy food at the grocery store, fill their car up with gas, or pay their electric bill. 

In an interview with “60 Minutes,” President Biden pushed back when pressed about inflation soaring to record highs and said, “First of all, let’s put this in perspective. Inflation rate month-to-month was up just an inch, hardly at all.”     Real average hourly earnings have decreased by 2.8 percent because of Bidenflation.  

• Food at home is up 13.5 percent
• Electricity is up 15.8 percent
• Gas utilities are up 33 percent
• Transportation is up 11.3 percent
• Rent is up 6.7 percent

  The typical American household is spending $717 more each month to buy the same goods and services as last year.     Our “Commitment to America” calls for reducing wasteful government spending and cutting taxes. This will make it easier for businesses to lower their prices and allow struggling families to keep more of their hard-earned money.

Gas prices and household energy costs are skyrocketing, blackouts are becoming more prevalent, and regular Americans are paying the price.

Our plan would require the Biden Administration to embrace an all-of-the-above energy strategy that includes petroleum, natural gas, and nuclear power that we produce here at home. This will reverse Democrats’ disastrous war on American energy and give American families access to affordable, reliable energy.   A Nation That’s Safe
Violent crime and murder are out of control because Democrats have cut police budgets, ended cash bail, and allowed violent offenders back onto our streets.

More than 15 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; and St. Paul, Minnesota, saw their 2021 homicide numbers shatter previous records.     This year, homicide rates across the country have increased by roughly 50 percent, and aggravated assaults have increased by 36 percent since 2019.

Unlike Democrats, Republicans will always stand with the brave men and women in blue. 

Our “Commitment to America” will give local police departments the tools and resources they need to hire additional law enforcement officers, which will bolster public safety and reduce crime. We will fight back against far-left district attorneys and prosecutors who do more to protect criminals than the victims they terrorize. 

Every town is now a border town because President Biden has surrendered control of our southern border to illegal immigrants and drug cartels.

In his first 100 days in office, President Biden issued more than 90 executive actions on immigration, including stopping the construction of President Trump’s border wall, which cost taxpayers $72 million and ending the Trump Administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy, which required migrants seeking asylum to wait in Mexico until their court date in the United States.     In an interview with NBC News, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that the southern border is secure.     This couldn’t be further from the truth. 
 
For the first time in American history, Customs and Border Protection arrested over two million migrants for attempting to unlawfully enter the United States through the southern border within one calendar year.     The leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45 is fentanyl, and this can be directly traced to the drugs and other illicit substances that cartels are smuggling into our country. 

President Biden’s own DEA Administrator said that cartels smuggling fentanyl into the country are “killing Americans at an unprecedented rate.”   
 
Our “Commitment to America” will secure the border and stop the illicit flow of drugs that are poisoning our kids and our communities. By requiring the federal government to secure the southern border, migrants and drug cartels will have a harder time taking advantage of an open southern border.
